Some Scriptural Terminology
THE ANOINTING -
The presence and the work of the Holy Spirit in a person's life. "But the anointing which you have received on Him abideth in you..." (I John 2:27).
TO MINISTER -
To serve or help another by the anointing of the Holy Spirit but our sufficiency is of God; who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament. . ." (2 Cor. 3:5-6).
The hill in the Old Testament (in Jerusalem) where God's presence dwelt. God's presence is now in His Church (also called Mt. Zion).
THE GLORY -
The manifestation of God's presence and splendor to the spiritual and physical faculties of man. "And it came to pass . . that the cloud filled the house of the Lord, so that the priest could not stand to minister. . . for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord" (I Kings 8:10-l1).
The manifestation of God's will and truths to man. "Wherefore I also . . . making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him..." (Eph. 1:15-17).
